Manage Dependent Metadata
RedEye supports parent-child relationship between metadata fields. This allows you to:
-
Ensure logical population of child metadata values.
-
Filter available child values based on the parent selection, improving usability.
-
Display dependent metadata clearly in the Visualised Metadata panel.
As a bucket administrator, you can view and manage all metadata dependencies in your bucket on the Dependent Metadata page.

Relationship types
You can configure metadata fields with the following types of relationships:
-
Parent-child: One parent field links to a single child field.
-
Multiple children: A parent field can determine values for more than one child field. A child field can depend on only one parent.
-
Dependent tree: A chain of metadata fields where each field depends on the value of the one above it.
-
Semi-dependent tree: A child field can also act as a parent to another field. However, the second child does not depend on the original parent.
